You bend but don’t break

Sue Bevan

Just look at you
Roots firmly planted
Holding you steady
Whipped by the wind
Bashed and blown
You bend but don’t break
Whatever is thrown
Your limbs stretch wide
A harbour for many
A shelter for more.
Stand strong my friend
Against all the elements.
Look to the sky
And remember this:
We gathered here say
You are magnificent!
