The Banner And The Oak Tree

Elspeth Owen

I planted the acorn! This tree is a little over forty years old, growing outside the old cricket pavilion in Grantchester where I have been making things in clay since 1975. I love the contrast between the long life of the tree and the fleeting moment as the breeze catches the banner. There they are, together, strength and fragility.
